Cookies Policy

COOKIE POLICY

Last updated: [DATE]

The short version: we use cookies to make the site work, to understand how it's used, and — only if you let us — to show you relevant content elsewhere on the internet. You're in control.

This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies driculture.com uses, why, and how you can manage them. It complies with the European ePrivacy Directive, the GDPR, and the Italian Garante's guidelines on cookies (Provvedimento del 10 giugno 2021).

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files saved on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your preferences, keep you logged in, understand how the site is being used, and (with your permission) deliver advertising relevant to you.

Some cookies expire when you close the browser ("session cookies"). Others stay on your device for longer ("persistent cookies"). Some come from us ("first-party"). Others come from external services we use ("third-party").

We also use similar technologies like pixels, tags, local storage, and SDKs. For simplicity, we refer to all of these as "cookies" throughout this policy.

2. The four categories of cookies we use

When you arrive at driculture.com, you'll see a cookie banner with four options. Here's what each one means:

Strictly necessary (always active, no consent needed)

These cookies are required for the site to function. Without them, you can't add things to your cart, log in, or check out. They store no marketing or analytical data.

Cookie Provider Purpose Duration
_shopify_* Shopify Cart, checkout, session management Session to 1 year
cart Shopify Cart contents 14 days
_secure_session_id Shopify Secure session Session
cookie_consent Driculture Stores your cookie preferences 6 months

Functional (consent-based)

These cookies remember your preferences — language, currency, recently viewed pieces — so the site feels personal across visits.

Cookie Provider Purpose Duration
localization Shopify Language and country preference 1 year
currency Shopify Selected currency 1 year
recently_viewed Shopify Recently viewed pieces 30 days

Analytics (consent-based)

These cookies help us understand how the site is used — which pages are visited, which pieces are viewed, where people drop off. Data is aggregated and anonymized. We use it to improve, never to identify you personally.

Cookie Provider Purpose Duration
_ga, _ga_* Google Analytics 4 Anonymous usage analytics 14 months
_gid Google Analytics 4 Anonymous session ID 24 hours

Marketing (consent-based)

These cookies allow us to show you Driculture content on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Google after you've visited our site. They also help us measure whether our advertising actually works. If you don't want this, decline — the site works perfectly without it.

Cookie/Pixel Provider Purpose Duration
Meta Pixel (_fbp, _fbc) Meta Platforms Facebook & Instagram ads 90 days
TikTok Pixel (_ttp) TikTok TikTok ads attribution 13 months
Google Ads (_gcl_*) Google Google Ads conversion tracking 90 days
Klaviyo (__kla_id) Klaviyo Email campaign attribution 2 years

3. How to manage your cookie preferences

You're in control of every cookie except the strictly necessary ones. Three ways to manage them:

On our site — click "Cookie preferences" in the footer at any time. You can change your choices, withdraw consent, or block specific categories. Changes take effect immediately.

In your browser — every modern browser lets you block, delete, or restrict cookies. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will break the site's basic functions.

On the third-party platforms — you can opt out of advertising tracking directly with the providers:

4. What happens if you decline

If you decline functional, analytics, and marketing cookies:

  • The site still works perfectly. You can browse, order, and check out without any restriction.
  • Your language and currency may reset between visits.
  • We won't know how you found us or which pieces you looked at.
  • You may still see Driculture ads elsewhere — but they won't be personalized based on your visit.

If you decline strictly necessary cookies, the site cannot function. There's no banner option for this; it's the technical baseline.

5. Updates to this policy

We update this policy when we add, change, or remove tools that use cookies. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the most recent version. We don't change cookie practices silently — when something material changes, the cookie banner reappears so you can review your choices.
